Gloucester County Habitat for Humanity to Celebrate Ejjalili Family with 55th Home Dedication
The Gloucester County affiliate will host a Home Dedication Ceremony on July 30th for its Partner Family at 314 Cleveland Ave., Glassboro, NJ.
Pitman, NJ. (July 29, 2024) – Gloucester County Habitat for Humanity (GCHFH) will celebrate a significant milestone on July 30th with their 55th home dedication ceremony for the Ejjalili family. The event will take place at 4 p.m. at 314 Cleveland Ave., Glassboro, NJ.
Mastafa, Nadia, and their children will receive the keys to their new home after successfully completing over 350 hours of sweat equity and participating in financial empowerment classes. The family has also saved over $6000 towards their new home.
GCHFH relies on the support of volunteers, corporate sponsors, individual donors and government partners to fulfill its mission of providing safe and affordable housing. Notably, the land this home is built on was generously donated by the town of Glassboro.
“The County has been a proud partner with the Gloucester County Habitat for Humanity as they have been a vital element in providing families with the ability to reach the American dream of homeownership,” said Frank J. DiMarco, Director of the Gloucester County Board of Commissioners. “For over 25 years, the County has allocated over $2.6 million dollars in HUD’s HOME Investment Partnership funding towards the construction of Habitat for Humanity’s 50 + single family homes just in Gloucester County alone”.
Mayor John E. Wallace III of Glassboro expressed the borough’s enthusiasm for welcoming the Ejjalili family. “The Borough of Glassboro is proud to have a longstanding partnership with Gloucester County Habitat for Humanity dating back to 1993. Over the years, we have generously donated multiple properties to Habitat for Humanity to provide much-needed affordable homeownership opportunities to community members. We are thrilled to welcome the Ejjalili family, Mastafa, Nadia and their children to our Glassboro family and are excited for them to integrate themselves into all that the Borough of Glassboro has to offer.”
WHEN: Tuesday July 30th, 2024 at 4PM
WHERE: 314 Cleveland Ave., Glassboro, NJ
WHY: New Jersey severely lacks affordable housing, especially for those who need it most. According to the National Low Income Housing Coalition, for every 100 families earning extremely low incomes, the Garden State has only 31 affordable and available rentals. This is less than the national average and among the worst ratios in the Northeast. (https://nlihc.org/gap/state/nj)
