Glassboro Police announce return of “Paws for a Cause”

Event focuses on fostering police-community partnerships and creating safer, more compassionate neighborhoods.

GLASSBORO, NEW JERSEY --- The Glassboro Police Department is excited to announce their upcoming annual Paws for the Cause event, taking place on Wednesday, October 2nd from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. This event is free and open to the public, with a focus on fostering police-community partnerships and creating safer, more compassionate neighborhoods.

Attendees can look forward to a variety of activities, including a thrilling police K-9 demonstration, bouncy houses, pumpkin picking, and face painting for the kids. Additionally, there will be tours of a police car, fire truck, and ambulance, providing a unique opportunity for families to explore emergency vehicles up close.

Guests will have the chance to engage with members of the Glassboro Police Department, ask questions, and meet the K-9 officers. Throughout the evening, there will be basket auctions to raise funds for the Fearless Movement, a local 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to supporting youth programs, treatment, therapy, and services for individuals facing mental health conditions, epilepsy, and other challenges within the community.

The highlight of the event will be helicopter landings from the New Jersey State Police Aviation Bureau and Cooper Air Medical Services, adding an exciting and memorable touch to the evening.

Chief Ryan Knight states that, “Paws for the Cause is Glassboro Police Department’s unique take on National Night Out. This event, open to the public at no cost, allows us to not only engage with the community but also support those who are dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of others.”

"Paws for the Cause" is made possible through generous donations from local businesses, such as Masso's Catering. Refreshments will be available at the concession stands. All proceeds from purchases made during the event will directly benefit the Glassboro Midget Football program.
