County & State Services & Support

Assemblywoman Heather Simmons

Assemblywoman Heather Simmons is advancing a “Breaking Down Barriers” healthcare agenda focused on improving access to care at every stage of the system. That means making sure providers are better equipped to recognize serious conditions, patients have the support they need during treatment, and medically necessary care is not denied.

Her legislation reflects that approach. A4642 ensures that hormone therapy prescribed for menopause and perimenopause, including testosterone when appropriate, cannot be denied simply because it is considered off-label. A3435 requires nursing programs to include education on inflammatory breast cancer, a rare but aggressive form that is often harder to detect. A3434 supports dialysis patients by allowing a designated support person to be present during treatment, improving communication and patient care.

Together, these efforts recognize that expanding healthcare access is not just about coverage, it is about making the system work better for patients and providers alike.

Gloucester County Department of Heath

Gloucester County’s Mobile Health Outreach van will be on-site, bringing essential services directly to the community. Attendees can access health screenings, health education, and vaccinations—making it easier than ever to take a step toward wellness.

Gloucester County Division of Human and Special Services

The Gloucester County Division of Human and Special Services fosters a comprehensive human services delivery system by implementing, coordinating, and improving our network of community-based organizations through the use of our Federal, State, and County funds. The division's goal is to enhance the quality of life of people in Gloucester County by creating an environment of public trust; empowering and strengthening individuals and families, advocating for sound policy, mobilizing resources, and acting as champions for those who are most vulnerable and in need of services.
